Born in 1867 as a railroad and military town, the city is Wyoming's center for government, business, and education. The “hub” of Wyoming, Cheyenne sits astride the crossroad of Interstate I-25 & I-80 and is a major junction for its largest private employer, Union Pacific Railroad. The historic center piece of the city is the Cheyenne Depot Museum. Originally the Union Pacific Depot the building is arguably the most beautiful rail station in the United States.
