Wright

Wright is located at the intersections of State Highway 59, 387 and 450, in the northeast Wyoming's energy rich Powder River Basin. Wright was founded in 1976, and incorporated in 1985. The town has grown from an empty stretch of grassland into a community of approximately 1800 people. This new town is now a stable community with shopping, schools, churches and all the essential utilities.

The economy of the area is spurred by energy development in low sulfur coal, oil, coal bed methane gas, and ranching. Wright is also adjacent to one of the largest buffalo ranches in the nation.

The citizens of Wright enjoy an enormous amount of recreation opportunities. It is only a short distance to the Black Hills and the Bighorn Mountains.
